A fallen tree is given new life by turning it into a bookshelf

Errazuriz’s latest artwork was made from a tree branch he simply found on a Santiago City street. He took it back to his studio, painted and polished it, then put in panes of glass. The result is a one-of-a-kind shelf that’s organic, minimal, and striking.

His collection also includes similar shelves and coffee tables. All of which are fallen trees combined with his signature surrealism. ‘It’s important to me that a project consist of just a little twist’, Errazuriz explains, “because I ultimately want people to see the obvious, the everyday differently’.
